Carrie Krawiec, LMFT and Dr. Jessica Garrett from the Birmingham Maple Clinic recently stopped by WXYZ to discuss why there has been an increase in the number of parents seeking an ADHD diagnoses after this period of remote learning due to the COVID pandemic. They note that the lack of structure and consistency has caused an uptick in anxiety, depression, an ADHD in school aged children. Dr. Garrett notes that:
Zoom is especially hard because you don’t have them in-person, face-to-face so you don’t see what their whole person looks like.
