Adult Sex Offense Group

 

For males 17 and over who have committed any form of sexual abuse

  • Accept responsibility and consequences of assaultive behavior
  • Understand and acknowledge damage done to everyone connected to the victim and the offender
  • Recognize and correct thinking errors
  • Develop coping strategies to deal with both internal and external risk factors
  • Present to group particular “cycle of offending behavior”
  • Resolve past trauma and other events which may be related to offending behavior
  • Identify and manage boundaries in regards to thoughts,  feelings and behavior
  • Develop a useful relapse prevention plan

  • Goal directed
  • Cognitive/behavioral and psycho-educational
  • Meet weekly, primarily in the early evening, 90 minutes
  • Between 6 and 8 members
  • Persons join when ready
  • Varying lengths of stay – usually 6 to 24 months
